Job Purpose:

AKTOR ROMANIA is looking for Managers for the Commercial department in our headquarters in Bucharest, Romania. The candidates for the position will join our growing commercial team and perform a wide range of daily duties. Indicatively but not restrictively, the ideal candidates will be familiar with handling the relationship with clients, vendors and subcontractors, managing claims – mailing activity, performing quantity surveyor duties, budgeting and cost control, extensive reporting spanned to all levels, etc.

Position Based: AKTOR ROMANIA HQs, Bucharest, Romania

Direct Report to: Project Manager

Duties:

  • Provides recommendations on contracts drafting and cooperates with the management team to negotiate with clients, vendors, subcontractors and public bodies to craft a final document that is satisfactory to all parties
  • Liaises with the Head of Commercial Department in Romania and third parties to ensure timely review and approval of any contractual variations
  • Establishes and maintains procedures for anyone involved in the contract process to reduce organizational expenses and increase efficiency
  • Handles all mailing exchange activity with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and public bodies
  • Maintains complete records on the entire contract administration processes
  • Prepares, negotiates, and analyzes costs for tenders and contracts
  • Be responsible for commercial and claim reporting and claim preparation
  • Provides services to all business requirements and ensures optimal handling of all claims
  • Analyzes financial information (e.g. revenues, expenditures and cash management) to ensure all operations are within budget
  • Presents annual budget to senior managers, reviews requests for approval, and forecasts future budget needs
  • Ensures Department Managers meet budget submission deadlines
  • Reports to both the Project Team in Romania, as well as to HQs in Athens, Greece
  • Liaises with other departments to produce accurate reports in a timely manner


Requirements

Qualifications:

Education

  • University degree in Engineering, Finance
  • Postgraduate degree would be a plus
  • Certifications/deep knowledge in QS would be an asset
  • English fluency (Full Professional Proficiency)
  • Basic command of Romanian language would be preferable

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years of work experience in commercial departments with similar duties and responsibities
  • Experience in office management mailing exchange activities and systems
  • Experience in Quantity Surveyor duties
  • Experience in Primavera P6 software would be a plus
  • Experience in budgeting/cost control
  • Advanced proficiency with MS-Office applications
  • Experience in SAP ERP would be preferable
  • Experience in keeping contract policies and procedures adhered to, streamlined with a contract lifecycle management platform
  • Familiar to setting up contract templates and approval workflows
  • Basic technical knowledge and competencies of budgeting and cost management processes, tools and techniques
  • An understanding of engineering, and the various lifecycles and phases of infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience of excellent reporting to all levels of management
  • Previous experience in the construction industry in international projects would be considered a plus
